Make this easy ham salad using leftover ham. It is creamy, tangy, and ready quickly, making it a great choice for sandwiches or serving with crackers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked ham, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup celery, finely diced
  • 1/4 cup sweet pickle relish
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely minced (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the finely chopped ham in a medium bowl.
  2. Add the diced celery, sweet pickle relish, and minced red onion, if using, to the bowl.
  3. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper until smooth.
  4. Pour the dressing mixture over the ham and vegetable mixture.
  5. Use a spoon or spatula to gently fold all ingredients together until everything is evenly coated. Do not overmix.
  6. Cover the bowl and chill the ham salad in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to blend.
  7. Serve cold on bread for sandwiches, with crackers, or as a side dish for a picnic.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use honey baked ham leftovers.
  • If you prefer a less tangy spread, reduce the amount of relish slightly.
  • This recipe works well as a simple appetizer when served with sturdy crackers.
