Make this creamy Garlic Parmesan Pasta in one pot for a quick, satisfying weeknight dinner with minimal cleanup. This recipe delivers rich, cheesy comfort food flavor fast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces spaghetti or linguine
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for serving
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place the pasta, chicken broth, heavy cream, minced garlic, and butter into a large pot or Dutch oven.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally to prevent the pasta from sticking.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the pasta is cooked al dente and most of the liquid has been absorbed, stirring frequently.
  4. Remove the pot from the heat. Stir in the 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  5. If the sauce seems too thick, add a splash of milk or reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.
  6. Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use high-quality Parmesan cheese that you grate yourself. Pre-shredded cheese often contains anti-caking agents that prevent smooth melting.
  • If you want to add protein, stir in 1 cup of cooked, shredded chicken during the final step when adding the cheese.
  • This recipe is excellent for using up pantry staples, making it a quick cheesy meal option.
