Make this creamy, briny appetizer inspired by the classic dirty martini. It requires no cooking and comes together fast, making it perfect for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 8 oz blue cheese, crumbled
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped green olives (pitted)
  • 1/2 cup olive brine
  • 2 oz gin (optional, for authentic flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Extra chopped olives and olive oil for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, blue cheese, and sour cream. Beat with an electric mixer until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  2. Stir in the finely chopped green olives, olive brine, optional gin, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined.
  3. Season the dip with salt and pepper to your taste. Remember the brine is salty.
  4. Cover the bowl and chill the dip in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Before serving, transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Garnish the top with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of extra chopped olives.
  6. Serve cold with crackers, pretzels, or vegetable sticks.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the gin completely. The olive brine provides the signature briny taste.
  • You can make this dip up to 2 days ahead of time. Keep it covered in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve.
  • Serve this dip in a large martini glass for a presentation that matches the cocktail inspiration.
