Make the best cinnamon sugar pecans using only five pantry staples. This oven-baked recipe delivers a shatteringly crisp texture, perfect for holiday gifts, party snacks, or topping your favorite salad.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups pecan halves
  • 1 large egg white
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk the egg white until it is slightly frothy.
  3. Add the pecans to the egg white and toss until they are evenly coated.
  4. In a separate small bowl, mix the granulated sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Pour the sugar mixture over the coated pecans. Toss well until every pecan is covered with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  6. Spread the coated pecans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Do not let them overlap.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes, stirring the pecans every 10 minutes to prevent burning and promote even crisping.
  8. Remove the pecans from the oven. Let them cool completely on the baking sheet. They will become very crunchy as they cool.
  9. Store your crispy glazed nuts in an airtight container at room temperature.

Notes

  • For the best crunch, spread the pecans in a single layer on the baking sheet. Crowding them will result in sticky, soft nuts.
  • These sweet roasted nuts make excellent easy food gifts when packaged in small jars or cellophane bags tied with a ribbon.
  • You can substitute pecans with walnuts or almonds if you need a different nut for your sweet and crunchy treats.
